  2. [Failure to Attend Course] If a student fails to attend a confirmed course or complete the course for any of the following reasons: personal problems, illness, change of mind, relocation, pregnancy, family illness or death, change in personal circumstances, failure to obtain a visa or loan, no fees or deposits will be refunded, no rights to future courses will be granted, and the student will be responsible for paying any unpaid course fees.
  3. [Payment Methods] Fees may be paid in full at the time of registration. Fees may also be paid by deposit and balance, which must be paid no later than 7 days before the course start date. Failure to do so will result in the loss of your place in the course.
  4. [Nature of Payments] Under no circumstances are all paid amounts refundable or transferable.
  5. [Instalment Payments (Application)] At the discretion of the academy, course fees may be paid by instalment, subject to academy approval.
  6. [Instalment Payments (Execution)] Students approved to pay course fees by instalment option agree with the academy to pay all fees by direct payment on preset dates. Late or non-payment may result in removal from the instalment option, and you will be required to pay the remaining course fees within 10 working days.
  7. [Direct Payment Setup] Direct payment must be set up at least 10 working days before the course start date. Otherwise, the academy reserves the right to cancel the agreed instalment option and require full course fee payment before the course start date.
  8. [Consequences of Default] If you do not pay course fees in accordance with the agreed payment terms, the academy reserves the right to withdraw any offer, cancel your accepted course place, exclude you from any related assessment, examination or re-assessment, not mark your assessment or re-assessment, or refuse to provide assessment or re-assessment results and materials for your course.
  9. [Kit and Towel Pack] Unless otherwise stated (excluding laser courses), all students must purchase a kit and towel pack for practice purposes. Students must bring their own kit and towel pack on the training day, otherwise it will result in the student being unable to attend class / practice / be assessed.
  10. [Practical Practice Arrangement] All students will be required to practice on other students, unless practical assessment requires an assessment mannequin, which will then be the student's responsibility to bring, but will be specified by LBEDU Luminous Beauty International Education and Training Academy.
  11. [Sensitivity Test] Certain courses may require a sensitivity test at least 24/48 hours before the course date. Especially for eye and laser treatments, this will be specified in the course information to ensure health and safety.
  12. [Medical Conditions and Learning Difficulties] Any medical conditions or learning difficulties must be disclosed by the student in writing (i.e. email [email protected]) before course registration, i.e. contraindications for treatment. In such cases, the student will need to bring their own model for practice.
  13. [Personal Grooming and Hygiene] As part of the Code of Practice, all students must behave appropriately at all times. (i.e. hair should be neatly tied back away from the face, no jewellery should be worn, all piercings should be removed for health and safety reasons, nails should be kept short and clean, personal hygiene should be observed)
  14. [Uniform and Conduct] All students must wear the correct uniform for every class. This includes a neat LBEDU Luminous Beauty International Education and Training Academy tunic, black trousers, and black flat shoes. Students must treat peers and staff in a professional and respectful manner, otherwise it will result in removal from the course and payment of any unpaid fees.
  15. [Course Cancellation (Academy Reasons)] If LBEDU Luminous Beauty International Education and Training Academy has to cancel a course date due to circumstances beyond the academy's control, the academy will attempt to give at least 24 hours' notice and reschedule another course date. In the event of cancellation, the academy is not responsible for any travel or accommodation losses.
  16. [Course Changes] LBEDU Luminous Beauty International Education and Training Academy reserves the right to change course dates and/or locations, but will endeavour to give at least 48 hours' notice.
  17. [Contract Validity and Amendment] These conditions form the main part of the contract between the academy and the student. Only the academy's Managing Director has the authority to change or waive any terms and conditions.
  18. [Certificate Collection] Students are requested to collect their certificate from the academy within six months of the notification date for certificate collection. The academy will not retain uncollected certificates on behalf of students beyond this period.
  19. [Special Course Terms — Semi-Permanent Make-Up and Micro-Pigmentation Related Courses] In light of concerns raised by the beauty industry regarding the supply and use of numbing creams, the academy has studied relevant overseas practices and the current regulatory framework under Chapter 138. In jurisdictions with a regulatory framework similar to Hong Kong's, health regulators and relevant organisations issue guidelines to tattoo service providers reminding them that they cannot supply local anaesthetics to customers; local anaesthetics should instead be obtained by the customer from a registered doctor or registered pharmacy. In Hong Kong, the Department of Health informs the public and the beauty industry about the risks and precautions of beauty procedures through press releases and documents (including leaflets on beauty procedures such as tattooing), as well as organising various events. The academy does not provide any numbing creams whatsoever. Models or clients obtain numbing creams from a registered doctor or registered pharmacy on their own, and apply them to the area of skin to be numbed by the model or client themselves. (If applicable)

If the examination is failed, the academy determines when the examination may be retaken.
  5. [Additional Teaching Charges] Students who fail to complete their assessments, variations, ranges, etc. during the course will be charged hourly for any further teaching/supervision/assessment. These sessions will be held at the academy's convenience. The current hourly charge is HKD 250.00.
